What is EVS

European Voluntary Service (EVS) is one of the Mobility projects in the Erasmus+ Program, supported by the European Commission. This project allows a young person to work as a volunteer in a different country for a certain period of time.

But that's only a formal definition. What will be hiding behind it? Priceless experience, new country, new people, cultural diversity, learning new things, being involved, friendship, smiles... That will be up to you!

EVS is not:
• Internship;
• Paid job;
• Touristic trip;
• Language course;
• Cheap labour;
• Occasional, part-time volunteering;
• Studying period or vocational training abroad.

Who can be an EVS-volunteer?
Anyone, who's not younger than 17 and not older than 30 and who's motivated enough to go to another country for some time to do an unpaid work for their hosting organization.

Costs:

EVS is free of charge for the volunteer. What you might be asked to pay for is a small part of travel costs, if Erasmus+ grant doesn't fully cover these costs. The rest of the costs, such as: organizational support, individual support (pocket money), linguistic support, visa (if needed) and any kind of special needs (for example, for people with disabilities), are covered by the Program.
The pocket money are fixed and established by the rules of the Program (see p. 76 of the Program Guide).
